Shane and I have always prided ourselves on the fact that we are "do it yourselfers". I'm extremely lucky in the fact that I also have a handy husband that is not only handsome but can wield a mean hammer and measuring tape!! So, wouldn't it figure that the one time we hire someone to do something for us, they screw it up. Our cabinet guy subbed out a stone installer for our new countertops. They left scratches, made it so we couldn't get the stove back out and totally missed the mark on the backsplash!!! Note to self: Learn how to install countertops. On a positive note, we start install of the hardwood floors in the kitchen tonight. Yes, we are doing these ourselves! There is still a lot to be done in the kitchen but we are moving along. Our goal is to have it all complete by the end of the month and I can't wait to post the "after" pictures. In conclusion, is it easier to hire someone to do all the work? YES!! Does hiring someone feel as rewarding as stepping back, looking at what you've accomplished and feeling a since of pride knowing YOU put in the sweat and handwork? NO!!
